Project Manager (Business/Industry Research)


Job Responsibilities :

  1. Direct Industry / business analysis. Typical assignments include
    1. Analyzing a whole industry in general and several specific companies in the industry using various analytical frameworks and financial analytics
    2. Preparing economic research reports either for global parameters or with reference to economic development in specific countries
  2. Lead several teams, each consisting of 3-5 analysts/senior analysts, to deliver analytical output in form of power point reports / extensive excel spreadsheets
  3. Interface with Clients to close on deliveries and participate in client meetings where required.
  4. Assist in the design and final presentation of all projects
  5. Actively contribute to the development of thought capital and/or intellectual property of the company.

Direct the development of research protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and analytical frameworks

  1. Monitor and analyze efficiency as well as utilization parameters of the Business / Industry Research group and implement initiatives to improve on these parameters
Prerequisites: Qualifications & Experience
  1. An MBA (Batch of 2000/01/02/) from a premier institute or a Post Graduate in Management with 7 to 9 years of experience
  2. Undergraduate/graduate degree in engineering (preferably from a reputed institute), business management, statistics, economics or similar analytical field
  3. Experience in consulting, corporate planning, business research or analytics for a period of more than 3 years post MBA
  4. Experience in leading a team for quantitative and qualitative business research
Prerequisites: Skills
  1. Excellent people management skills and ability to work in a time-line driven environment
  2. Exceptional analytical skills and capability to work in project environment marked with insufficient data and derive meaningful conclusions from apparently ambiguous information
  3. Familiarity with strategic analysis frameworks and financial analysis techniques to be deployed for analysis of various industries as a whole and companies in particular
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  5. Excellent working skills with Microsoft Office tools, especially power point and excel
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred industry background of potential candidate:

  1. Analytics- ( Peer Group companies)
  2. Strategic/ management consulting ( Senior Consultants)
  3. Corporate strategic function of large corporates

Reporting structure:

  1. Job Reports To : Vice President – India Operations
  2. Reporting Teams : Currently two teams consisting around 8-10 team members (senior analysts and analysts). Number of teams and size of teams is likely to increase shortly
